It has got the shape of a pancake, the world—
but it is not flat.
Science demonstrates it’s wrong, but some still flog that
and a lot of other junk
that’s plumb apocryphal.

Many notions that are wrong persist and soar,
though they’re apocryphal.
Vaccines cause autism and such nonsense lore
are junk apocryphal.

Lots of shaggy-dog stories around the world
were and are begat.
Someone hears such a story and then repeats that
and a lot of other bunk
that’s just apocryphal.
