Oak aroma in the vintage really is quite plain.
It is not way sweet, yet not effete--
Not a vintage to pour down the drain.

Oak aroma, clean and bright; well, here's mud in your eye.
It's not aged in crocks; there's no phyllox-
era in the grapes, it's crisp and dry.

It's grown on some long sloping land
With the terraces carefully planned.
This Chardonnay. . .
Sips! is mighty sharp, I'd say.
That is, I'm sayin',
I like this wine, oak aroma'd;
Oak aroma's OK.

Oak aroma in the vintage enhances the plain
Dishes that I eat; they are replete
With a vicious boredom, I complain.

Oak aroma, clean and bright. I am getting pie-eyed.
Now I slur my talk. . .can hardly walk;
