BTW,I love the OS... My dad played and sang a number of Little Jimmy's songs when I was growing up. My husband and I visited the Ryman Auditorium this summer on a vacation and found that he's *still* at the Opry every week and still loves coming out to meet and have pictures taken with fans. Cool.

TJC is playing on TT's "sheepish" parodies, by substiteweting "ewe" for each "u" sound, as I just did. He often "does" that at my own songs, but not eweseweally (heh!) -- uh, usually at other writers'. Consider it an additional nod in this direction, though perhaps the fact that not everyone would get it might have been considered.

The past tense of "do" is "did". "Does" is present tense, third person singular:

I do (NEVER say that! ;)
You do
He/she/it does
We, You (plural), They do '

But I totally agree with enclosing in quotes to prevent confusion with the verb, "does", whatever tense it happens to be. Sign of a good writer, to anticipate and prevent confusion. (TT to FG, many times. "Roadmap., Roadmap".)

I kind of get the impression that you're retired. Try a little of Shakespeare - get an "annotated" version, where they have footnotes (See where TT got the idea?!) explaining the archaic Middle English words.
  Here's a *huge* incentive to get you started: You're a fan of the Golden Age of Broadway. Did you know that "West Side Story" was a remake of "Romeo and Juliet:"? ... seriously. Same plot, same characters, just changed the time, place, and names. Capulets and Montagues = Jets and Sharks. R & J = Maria and Tony. I think you'll enjoy it, and that could lead to others. Rich literary vein to mine, and gives more references for your/our work here. Cheers.

On "Does" ...you got me there, Prof. Higgins... .........On Shakespeare...and, West Side Story..I think I did hear that somewhere....Retired?...not yet, but I retire every night about 1 am...or when my wheel rubber wears down to the nubs...(yawn) I know..old corny jokes..But seriously, sort of retired, stay busy renewing and selling washer and dryer appliances....Over the years have worked in factories, and several years in Insurance business..not selling, adjusting and inspecting, etc. blah, blah, blah, (yawn, again) who cares? I do appreciate your grammar corrections and tips...although, English and Math were favorite school subjects..grammar and punctuation have never been my strong points...

Can't believe I've missed this one... great tribute to TT and FG, and you sound like you have done a lot with your life, from reading your little biography fragments on different parodies here on AIR. Lately I work 3 days a week in wildlife rescue/rehabilitation, and fix up 1930s-80s electronics as a hobby and income booster, although I have worked doing many other things and majored in world history, this is what I like best. Have these well-deserved 5s.

Thanks, Andria...Don't know if I've done that much..as I get older, wishing I was young again, so I could do more and do it a lot differently, but I guess everyone wishes for that...Wildlife rescue sounds like good humanitarian work...and refurbishing old and classic elect.'s is interesting...I love electronics like that; old radios, etc...I've pack-ratted a bunch..still have an old Sony 4-track tape cassette recorder/player/ turntable...purchased new about "63"...used to transfer favorite 45 and 33 records to tape and play 'em in the car..Like Archie Bunker said and sang, "Those were the days"...never hit college, high school grad, only...not too fond of WH, but always liked American History, math, and of course, English.
