Maybe this will still the voices in my head long enough to get my taxes done. Nothing else seems to help. Anyway, hi, I am Paree Dee and this is my first submission (in case the lyrics go so far over your head that you can't figure that out.) The first couple stanzas are the pesky "pre-lyrics" to the refrain, and I added those because the rules say I can't do just part of a song, and I wasn't sure if that meant the pre-refrain stuff as well. So here it is; my hands are actually sweating as the curtain rises...

Read so many songs, think I'm going blind,
Still I hum some more, 'Cause I know I'll find
That one perfect song to parody of mine.
Looking everywhere haven't found it yet
It's no big affair, still I seek to get
Accolades aplenty for my maiden set.
I'd like to add my new screen name to the ranks of such
You who read and appreciate wit so much.
There's a certain tune I'm longing to see
The one for me, hope it will be
The song that I parody.
I'm a newbie here so be kind to me
Vote with your key, at least a three
For one prostrate with her plea.
You know it may not be my best work, it takes time.
Please don't shirk your knee jerk

I love this OS and, you did a wonderful job with it. The way I figure it is, I try to sing your words to the melody. If I can do it smoothly, you've succeeded. This was as smooth as silk. 555

AFW, I actually read it earlier, and totally enjoyed it. "soul some" and "wholesome" were wonderful takes on the OS. The parody had me rollin' in the aisles with laughter. Thanks!.... PD
