When I saw the title, I thought it was about a love triangle. (Grace [bleeped] everyone in the Airplace except Marty.) But you gave me a great surprise by mentioning my beloved Hokies.

Rivalries are a good thing, if only to drive up attendance. I'm surprised you didn't mention Florida vs. Florida State, where the players often break out in brawls... before the opening kickoff, this after FSU Coach Bobby Bowden compares them to himself and then-UF Coach Steve Spurrier (Steve Superior, Steve Spurious) and says, "These dadgum kids are more mature than we are." And as a proud graduate of East Brunswick High, I enjoy telling you of arch-rival Old Bridge: You can't spell SLOB without OB. (Yes, my Aussie compatriots, I know full well there's an East Brunswick outside Melbourne, with an East Brunswick Football Club.)
