Kiss goodbye. . .none.
Once there were rallies--
Up the markets did run.
Once net worth did rise. . .
Managed to keep above
The poverty line--
It's those days I dream of.
I had some money
And rolled in greenbacks.

Greenbacks are gone now;
Darks days have come--
Stocks in a valley
That deepens, so I'm glum.
Gone is my money;
I watched it all depart.
Put it in Lehman;
I guess that wasn't smart.
Where are the greenbacks
That I used to own?

It's all been blown, forever gone away.
There's no sense in searching
After that Black Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday.
I only know there is no dough for me:
Nada, nichts, niente, rien. . .poverty.

There's no sense waiting for its return.
I was like Nero: I fiddled while it burned.
No bank is happy to proffer me a loan;
In the tank, hopper is all I used to own.
Owned once some greenbacks. . .
