I am white and yet I witnessed racial hatred based on skin color after the O.J. case. We had just got off a light-rail train and some biker cop spotted my friend and I standing there waiting for a bus. The cop pulled over by my black friend and accused him of throwing rocks at the train. I stepped in and said impossible since we just got off that trian and had our passes. The cop told me to step aside, that he was referring to the Negro. At that point I had to step in and ask for his badge number and also that I was going to call his Sgt or watch commander. He backed off and sped away angry. My friend was terrified and I was shocked. No one else out of a crowd stepped forward to defend him at that time which was also shocking.
